Hope Succeeds by Purpose

As I have sat and watched the snow fall today it has warmed my heart. You might find that odd but it does. Just as the rains and snows accomplish their purpose, so will God’s Word succeed in accomplishing its purpose. Moisture from heaven invariably accomplishes its intended purpose in helping meet human physical needs.

God’s Word is as powerful as the rain and snow that water the earth and causes the seed to grow. God’s Word will not return to Him empty. His Word will bear fruit and will accomplish His purpose. It will convict sinners, lead them to Christ, and instruct them in the way of righteousness.

This is a hope you can lean into and stand on. God’s Word will succeed in the purpose for which it was sent just as the snow and the rain succeed in the purposes for which they are sent.

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. —Isaiah 55:10-11
