Death-Defying Confidence
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:6
As we enter 2025 we should set our sights on being able to live with “Death-Defying Confidence”. We should be working and seeking in both God’s strength and our own strength: trusting and acknowledging God while doing all we can; putting our hand to the plow and plowing; working and working hard while not looking back, and while working, trusting the results to God. God says He will see to it that those that trust in this way will always have the necessities of life.
The believer whose work fails in the eyes of the world can know four things—if you have really put God first in your life.
1) Your failure is temporary. God will help and strengthen and even teach you through the trying times.
2) God will work all things out for good, for the believer loves God and has been called by God (Rom. 8:28f)
3) God will see to it that the necessities of life are given to you. Specifically food and clothing.
4) God has much better things in store for you—eternally. If you have been faithful in his work, so God will reward you as a faithful servant, even if your labor has failed in the eyes of the world.
The believer who goes through a failure needs to remember just one thing: be faithful—continue to be faithful. If you put God first, God will lift you up now and eternally.
You can have the necessities of life; but you have to do one thing: ”But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” —Matthew 6:33
Live with “Death-Defying Confidence” this year.
